Festival of Guest Nations 2024

People Corporation was thrilled to join the annual Festival of Guest Nations on September 15, 2024, in Leamington, Ontario—a vibrant event dedicated to honouring foreign workers and celebrating Mexican Independence Day. Organized by the Migrant Worker Community Program and supported by generous sponsors including Nature Fresh Farms, the Municipality of Leamington, Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP), Teamwork Project, Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers, and People Corporation through their Foreign Workers Canada Health Plan, the day was packed with lively activities for all ages.

The festival buzzed with excitement, offering giveaways, music, mouth-watering Mexican food, live performances, and dancing. El Charrito, Grupo Sabor Latino, and La Parranda took the stage, lighting up the crowd with their dynamic performances and adding a special spark to the celebration.

Among the day's highlights was a heartfelt tribute to 64 workers who have been apart of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program for an impressive 30 years. Attendees also witnessed the Grito de Independencia, a powerful reenactment of Mexico's historic call for independence on September 16, 1810, honouring the enduring spirit of freedom and unity.
